“With the second choice in the 2008 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select…”Will these words be spoken by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell or will he be announcing a deal at around 12:15 on the last Saturday in April? The Rams may hold the number-two pick, but don’t count out a trade possibility if they can find a suitor. Regardless of who the Miami Dolphins take at the top spot, there will be a very talented player available. The Fish may end up trading down, as well. So the top may look differently than the early draft boards do now.Previous number two picks include Calvin Johnson (Lions), Reggie Bush (Saints), Ronnie Brown (Dolphins), Robert Gallery (Raiders), Charles Rogers (Lions), Julius Peppers (Panthers), Leonard Davis (Cardinals), LaVarr Arrington (Redskins), Donovan McNabb (Eagles), Ryan Leaf (Chargers), Darrel Russell (Raiders), and Kevin Hardy (Jaguars). Not exactly a list ready for Canton. So the Rams would be wise to at least inquire about trading down and loading up if there isn’t a player that they are in love with that will be there.
