“Seeing these photos brings back so many great memories,” said Emerson Boozer. The former running back is featured in a photo showing his second touchdown that sealed a Jets victory over the Baltimore Colts on October 22, 1972. “It is an honor to be a part of this franchise and it is exciting that we able to share it with countless travelers who will pass through this terminal over the coming months.”

The exhibit, which chronicles the Jets’ past with more than 25 photos, will remain on display in Terminal 5 through February 7, 2010.

Davis (6-3/205/Northern Illinois/Melrose Park, IL) originally signed with the Jets as a rookie free agent on May 1, 2009 and was waived on Sept. 5.  During the preseason, Davis caught five receptions for 54 yards.  At Northern Illinois, he finished his career fifth on the NIU all-time charts for career catches with 146 and totaled 1,676 receiving yards, 2,063 all-purpose yards and nine career touchdowns.

“It is a mutual decision that Kerry no longer will be with us,” said Head Coach Rex Ryan. “I will be overseeing the entire defense as I always have with Mike Pettine. We felt it was the best thing for both of us moving forward. This is a sensitive issue. The timing is unfortunate but I felt this was in the best interests for both of us.”

Locklin joined the Jets in 2009 after nine seasons as the defensive line coach at Fresno State. He has also coached collegiately at Eastern Michigan (1995-1999), Morehead State (1990-93), Utah (1989) and Western New Mexico (1988) and for Shreveport in the CFL (1994). As a player, Locklin was an All-WAC tight end at New Mexico State who played three years in the NFL (Rams, 1982-83, Broncos, 1987) and two seasons in the USFL (1984-85).

Weeks, a defensive assistant who worked with the defensive line, came to the Jets in 2009 after one season as a defensive assistant with the Raiders. A 23-year coaching veteran, Weeks coached with Rex Ryan at Morehead State (1990-91) and at Oklahoma (1998). Weeks has also coached collegiately at Texas A&M-Kingsville (2005-06), Southeastern Oklahoma State (2004), Trinity Valley (Texas) CC (2000-03), where he coached Jets defensive back Drew Coleman, Fort Scott (Kansas) CC (1999), Glendale (Arizona) CC (1997) and Phoenix (Arizona) CC (1996). Weeks played collegiately as a wide receiver at Southwest Oklahoma State and Northwest Oklahoma State before attending camp with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bartlesville, OK native was an all-state football player at College High School.

Cummings (6-3/250/Wingate/Maxton, NC), was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 7, 2009.  He originally signed with the Jets on May 2, 2008 as an undrafted free agent and was inactive for the 2008 season opener at Miami. He was waived on Sept. 10 and signed to the practice squad on Sept. 16 where he spent the remainder of the season.

• The Play 60 Challenge is a six-week program created by the NFL and American Heart Association that encourages students to participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity everyday. This program has students track their exercise each day.

Why: New York Jets players Brad Smith and Wallace Wright will wrap up the Play 60 Challenge at St. Vincent Martyr School and Madison Junior School. Students from Harding Elementary will attend the wrap up at Madison Junior School as well. Smith and Wright will congratulate the students on completing the challenge and talk about healthy eating and exercise.  Students will then participate in activities with Smith and Wright illustrating the importance of getting 60 minutes of activity each day.  One boy and one girl student from each school who successfully completed the Play 60 Challenge will be drawn at random attend and be on field at the November 29th New York Jets vs. Carolina Panthers game.  The other participating schools, Ridgedale Middle School and Holy Family School in Florham Park, NJ will receive their wrap up visits on December 8. The Jets Play 60 Challenge is presented by the American Dairy Association & Dairy Council, Inc.’s Fuel Up to Play 60 campaign.  The initiative is part of a larger nationwide effort to tackle the sedentary lifestyles and poor nutrition that have helped spur the current health crisis among America’s youth.

Carroll (5-10/190/Arkansas/Atlanta, GA), who was signed by the Jets as a free agent on July 22, 2008, played in 22 games for the Jets, recording 30 special teams tackles. Originally the 25^th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by Green Bay, Carroll has appeared in 57 career games for the Packers, Jaguars and Jets, registering three sacks and three interceptions.

After-School All-Stars is a comprehensive after-school program provider, founded 17 years ago by Arnold Schwarzenegger, which offers a safe and educational place for underserved middle school children to go after school.  The organization currently serves 72,000 children in 13 cities throughout the U.S.  The New York Chapter (ASASNY) offers after-school programs at three middle schools in Queens. St. John’s University and its School of Education has partnered with ASASNY in this venture.

About St. John’s University and After-School-All-Stars New York (ASASNY)

I.S. 192 is a middle school St. John’s University serves under a 21^st Century Community Learning Center Grant. St. John’s is the named recipient of the grant and ASASNY works together with the University and its School of Education to manage this program. This is the second year of the grant and the after-school population has increased 62.5% from year one to include 200+ students in the program this year.  ASASNY believes this is due to the continuity, consistency and commitment of the staff (predominantly St. John’s students) and the introduction of a new CampUs experience which has been incorporated into summer academic/athletic programming on campus during August. St. John’s and ASASNY have been able to establish the notion of continuous learning and the prevention of loss of learning over the summer with this model.  Students participate in the following classes: Cooking, Graffiti Art, Volleyball, Wii, and Badminton.
